THE INTRODUCTION
We run TikTok Shop end to end for consumer brands, from ops and affiliates to GMV Max ads.
Zain Ali is the co-founder of Zainith Agency, a New York-based TikTok Shop agency for consumer brands. His team runs the whole shop: 3PL ops and forecasting, affiliate programs at scale, and GMV Max ads fed by a creative feedback loop. Zain came up on the operator side of ecommerce and has spent over eight years helping brands grow online. He believes TikTok Shop wins are built on the unglamorous parts, like margins, fulfillment, and inventory, as much as on viral videos.

THE CREATORHAUZ INTERVIEW
Eight questions with Zain Ali
01
Thank you for taking the time to sit with us. Before we dive in, can you give us a quick introduction to who you are, what you do, the business or brand you’re building, your niche, how you got started, and what made you passionate about this space?
I'm Zain. I run Zainith Agency, where we manage TikTok Shop for consumer brands, from the shop itself and 3PL ops to affiliate programs at scale and GMV Max ads. I started on the operator side, got obsessed with how much TikTok Shop can move for a brand, and built the agency around doing it end to end.
02
The word “influencer” can undersell what many creators actually do today—strategy, production, distribution, community building, creative direction, even consulting. How would you describe what your role has evolved into?
A lot of people hear "creator" and think content. What actually makes money is the system behind it: affiliate programs, creator outreach at volume, ads feeding off what creators make, and inventory that keeps up when something pops. My role went from doing the work to building the machine that does it.
Data picks the angle, but taste decides what's worth making.

03
Let’s talk about the business behind the brand. Beyond creating content, what are the different parts of your business today, and how have you learned to build something sustainable around your influence?
We make money two ways: agency fees for running a brand's shop, and performance upside on the growth we drive. What people underestimate is ops. Margins, fulfillment, and forecasting decide whether a viral week turns into a business or a stockout.

04
Take us behind the camera. What does your creative process actually look like from the first idea to something your audience eventually sees?
We start with what's already working. Creators' videos show us which hooks and angles sell, then we feed that back into ads and briefs. Data picks the angle, but taste decides what's worth making.
05
You understand your audience in a way that even sophisticated brands sometimes can’t. What do brands still misunderstand about working effectively with creators?
Brands still treat creators like an ad slot. The best results come when the creator gets a real say early and the brand lets the content sound like them. Pay fairly, send product fast, and don't over-script.
06
We talk constantly about “influence,” but the word gets reduced to follower counts and engagement rates. What does genuine influence mean to you?
Influence to me is people acting on your recommendation because you've been right before. You protect it by only putting your name on things you'd use and being honest when something doesn't work.
A viral week only becomes a business if ops can keep up.

07
You’ve already evolved considerably to get here. What does the next version of you and your business look like—and what are you building toward now?
Keep building Zainith into the go-to TikTok Shop partner for brands that want to scale. Platforms change, but trust with operators and creators carries over.
08
Well, thank you for taking the time to sit with us. Before we let you go, what’s one piece of advice you’d leave with creators trying to turn their talent, audience, or point of view into something that lasts—and where can readers follow you and your journey?
Build something you own, like a list or real relationships, not just a following on one app. Find me at zainith.agency, on LinkedIn (linkedin.com/in/zainhali), and on X (@NotZainAgain).
